Gluing tip:

Use CERCOL F.55 or XL Superstrong brick strip adhesive for the heavier or slightly damp (brick/stone) styles and prime the wall a day in advance with F.28 primer. • Adhesive use: 1 x 25 kg bag of F.55 brick strip adhesive for 8 to 10 m². • Primer: 1 litre of F.28 per 10 m². Please note: glue the white natural brick/stone styles in our range using CerMarmo white adhesive. The recommended type is displayed in the webshop with the product of your choice.

Corner pieces (yes / no )

Some stone/brick strips require corner pieces, while others do not. Due to their natural quality, thin natural stone strips are consistent in colour throughout. These do not require corner pieces and we do not supply them. A little impregnator or wax on cut surfaces is all that is needed to finish these surfaces. The strips can be placed against each other on protruding corners without a space in the joint. The corner pieces sold in our webshop are for certain types of strips, which require them for perfect finishing of protruding corners. Corner pieces are available for most of the brick/stone strips we supply. In such cases, this is indicated along with the brick/stone style.

Easy to apply.

All brick/stone strips are easy to apply. Always apply TESU natural stone strips without grout. The joints of artificial brick strips, which are similar in appearance to a brick wall, and real brick strips sawn from old bricks must be pointed. This is done with the grout listed with the product of your choice, which can be ordered at the same time. But for the natural-stone styles, it is always: stick on the wall and you're done! The adhesive is applied to the wall using a notched trowel and the brick/stone strips are applied using a sliding motion. By covering the entire wall, any cracks present are hidden. Check the top of each new row with a spirit level. If it is level, start the next row. Use a grinder and diamond disc for easy cutting. See also the videos in the webshop - see homepage. Brick styles can easily be placed using 10 mm spacers, for example. These can also be ordered via the webshop.

The ceramic stone strips (wall tiles) in our range are grouted with special grouts that are also available from the webshop. Brick strips are grouted and the type of grout used has an influence on the end result. You can choose white or grey grout and also whether to have deeper or full grout between the brick/stone strips.

Suitable for outdoors?  ( Slate is less suitable for outdoors. ).

Most stone strips can also be used outdoors. In such cases, you should cover the whole wall with sufficient adhesive and press the strips onto it. Outdoor application is endorsed by the manufacturer but the customer remains responsible for skilled application and any risks of frost damage or rust formation. With slate products, in particular, rust formation is a fairly common occurrence.

Impregnation with SEALGUARD or Antique Marble products.

These products make the wall water resistant, for use in places like kitchens and bathrooms. Sealguard does not change the colour of brick or stone strips and is recommended in damp areas and kitchens, especially when using natural stone strips. Lithofin Vlekstop Plus impregnator makes brick/stone strips water repellent and deepens colours. This is particularly effective with slate.

Breakage

When ordering brick/stone strips, take into account that there will be some losses involved during sawing and application. Occasionally, cracks may also appear in products during transportation. Don't worry, you can still use these pieces. Strips are often applied offset, so you will also need half and partial strips horizontally or vertically. You will certainly be able to use all of the strips with cracks without running out. Our advice is to order 10% extra than the exact measured size. For example: Length 3.00 m Height 2.50 m = 7.50 m2, plus 10% is 8.25 m2.

Strips are sold per full box. By adding items to the shopping cart, you can maintain an overview of your order and its total price. Stone strips are always supplied in full boxes (numbers may vary).
